Position: EP Technician I (Prod., Assem., Panels) Weekend shift, Fri-Sun 6pm-6am(El Paso, TX → Midland, TX)

AST Space Mobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Position

Summary

The Technician I (Production, Assembly, QV Solar Panels) is responsible for performing assembly and production tasks in support of satellite system manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized work instructions, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. The position supports manufacturing operations by assembling components, handling materials, and ensuring products meet established quality and performance standards.

- $28.00 hour - DOE Work Schedule

Fri, Sat, Sun 6:00 pm-6:00 am (3x12 schedule)

Relocation Support (El Paso, TX to Midland, TX)

AST Space Mobile provides relocation assistance for qualified candidates. Relocation includes temporary lodging support (up to $5,000 for the first 3 months) and a monthly stipend of $1,050 to support living arrangements (duration per company policy).

Essential Functions Production & Assembly
  • Assemble satellite subcomponents and production parts in accordance with work instructions and engineering specifications
  • Sort, stage, and organize materials on tables, racks, or bins
  • Use hand tools, fixtures, and measuring/test equipment to complete assembly tasks
  • Clean, package, and prepare completed assemblies for storage or shipment
  • Pack, seal, label, and move materials and finished goods as required
  • Handle small parts and components requiring manual dexterity
Quality & Productivity
  • Follow standardized procedures to ensure product quality and consistency
  • Inspect own work and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Meet established productivity and production targets
  • Report defects, discrepancies, or process issues to supervision
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Comply with applicable safety standards under the Occupational Safety and Health Act
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Team Collaboration
  • Follow instructions and respond appropriately to supervisory direction
  • Communicate effectively with team members and support cross‑functional operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
Minimum Qualifications (Basic Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to meet production and quality expectations
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments
  • Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, and basic mechanical processes
  • Experience working in aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing settings

Physical Requirements
