RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, invites qualified candidates to join the Gage Standards team in Columbus, GA. This onsite role focuses on the calibration and layout evaluation of gages, tools, and fixtures in the Metrology Department for Blades and Disks.
What You Will Do• Shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00AM – 7:00PM
• Perform layout evaluation and calibration of gages ranging from simple hand tools to complex part‑specific instruments
• Apply advanced mathematical concepts (trigonometry, algebra, geometry) to resolve complex metrology challenges
• Read and interpret blueprints for tight tolerance work
• Use multiple layout tools daily to maintain tolerances of +/- 0.0002
• Manage sine plates, angle plates, Jo blocks, height stands, Cadillac gages, and other machine shop measuring devices and tools
• Compile and analyze data using Microsoft Office and other systems

QualificationsRequired:
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 1year of related work or vocational training
- U.S. citizenship; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and data collection systems
Preferred:
- Associate degree or related work experience
- Experience with Solid Works, NX, or a similar CAD system
- Prior calibration, gage standards, or metrology experience
- Five years of manufacturing experience or quality‑technical training
- Knowledge of advanced blueprint reading and layout tools
