Position: Mechanical Testing Technician (Onsite)

Job Overview

Position:
Technical Team Member, Mechanical Control Lab (MCL) – Onsite 1st shift (Weekdays) –

Location:

Columbus, GA (Macon Rd).

Requirement: U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual). Security clearance:
None.

What You Will Do
  • Perform daily walk‑arounds prior to testing
  • Receive in and inspect testing specimens for accuracy
  • Sort priorities as needed
  • Operate multiple creep, stress rupture, and tensile mechanical testing machines for specimen destructive testing
  • Comply with all required training, including quality procedures, MCL manuals, and standard work
  • Log testing data in UGA as needed
  • Maintain required log books
  • Check/validate testing accuracy
  • Perform 6S each shift
  • Engage in process optimization to enable production/quality goals while achieving cost savings
  • Complete all training within the expected time given

The role is 1st shift, weekdays.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing production and/or quality
  • Familiarity with micrometer, calipers, microscopes, and other measuring equipment
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Willingness to work the scheduled shift and potential need to train on an alternate shift. Overtime may be required.
Qualifications We Value
  • Two to five years of experience in a quality/aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Technical degree or certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures
  • Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
  • Good organizational skills
