Position: Non-Destructive Testing Inspector - Weekend Nights (Onsite)

Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector – Columbus, Georgia

This role supports the production of aerospace propulsion components at Columbus Forge. The inspector works a Weekend Night Shift (AWW2) from 6:30PM Friday to 6:30AM Monday, with a shift‑premium compensation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain quality processes, including on‑the‑job training in NDT inspection techniques.
  • Utilize Matec and IRT ultrasonic systems to conduct inspections.
  • Complete classroom theory, OJT, and certification examinations as required by Pratt & Whitney NDT qualifications.
  • Perform daily walk‑around and maintain cleanliness of inspection areas; troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Analyze computer‑generated data, sign off product inspections, and set up requirements per work instructions.
  • Conduct ultrasonic inspection functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate directly with the QP&E team to perform quality reviews and metallurgical dispositions.
  • Work with Material Control Lab and manufacturing personnel to investigate inspection problems and determine their impact on parts.
  • Interpret detailed engineering blueprints and use precision measurement devices to document results.
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with internal and external customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Background in quality inspection or NDT methods, or strong STEM education, or experience in aerospace manufacturing with a focus on engineering quality.
  • Ability to obtain NDT Level 2 certification within the designated timeframe.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in a quality or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Matec and IRT ultrasonic systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
