Location:
US-GA-MIDLAND-MPC, 8801/8987 Macon Rd, Building MPC.
Role Type:
Onsite. This position is a third shift, Monday to Friday, 11:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
Security Clearance:
Not required.
- Perform daily walk-around inspections before machining.
- Receive and examine integrals, slugs, or specimens for accuracy.
- Sort and prioritize work as needed.
- Comply with all required training, including quality procedures, MCL manuals, and standard work.
- Log specimens in the UGA part tracker.
- Set up and operate CNC and other process equipment in the assigned area.
- Ensure machines remain operational; perform minor maintenance as needed.
- Set up and operate basic machine tools to repair, make minor alterations, and create less complicated tooling.
- Perform basic shop mathematics and use basic measurement instruments.
- Assist in the development of other team members.
- Ensure outgoing specimens meet J-section specifications.
- Verify that receiver number, shop dimensions, and alloy data match the envelope.
- Follow blueprints, work instructions, and GBMOP to mark locations accurately.
- Perform 6S each shift.
- Engage in safe process optimization to achieve production/quality goals while maintaining cost savings.
- Complete all training within the expected time.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in machining and/or quality manufacturing.
- Willingness to work the scheduled shift; may need to train on an alternate shift.
- Overtime may be required.
