Job Summary
Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands‑on, team‑driven environment, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability.
This is a Weekend Shift position:
Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00pm.
Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassemble and test a jet engine. Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions and comply with required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
Onsite:
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines and requires drug and alcohol testing as a pre‑employment contingency and ongoing random testing per FAA regulations.
QualificationsYou Must Have:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
We Prefer:
- Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate.
- Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations. - Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
