Role Overview
Logistics Technician 2 (LT2) within the QC Laboratory. Provide high‑quality analytical data to release products in support of the Nutrition & Biosciences business. This position is located in Midland, MI and is a bargained‑for position with United Steelworkers AFL‑CIO‑CLC Local Union 12075‑26.
CompensationBase pay $21.56 per hour with potential performance‑based incentive compensation.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze samples according to the sample plan and prioritize special‑request samples.
- Evaluate data validity, apply basic statistics, compare to specification limits, and take appropriate action.
- Document, communicate, and archive results following cGMP rules.
- Communicate role‑related information between shifts, day staff, and business partners.
- Follow EH&S and operating‑discipline/quality‑system procedures and practices.
- Participate in facility management: materials & supplies, housekeeping, waste management per RCRA guidelines.
- Provide professional communication to clients, co‑workers, and leadership.
- Use electronic tools (Sample Manager, SharePoint, ETQ, Microsoft Planner, Outlook, etc.).
- Follow supporting work processes and participate in plant initiatives (team involvement, discipline improvements, process implementation, tool usage).
- Suggest improvements to the analytical work process and performance to the EHSQ Management System.
- Provide first‑line conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with shift‑work rules and all GMP, ISO, and EH&S requirements.
- Achieve personal learning goals using available resources and complete lab/facility training programs to maintain qualifications on applicable tests and quality‑system requirements.
- Complete additional technical training per an employee development plan.
- Education: High school diploma or GED. College coursework in chemistry preferred.
- Experience: Previous analytical laboratory experience and/or technical training in analytical chemistry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Sample Manager, and SharePoint.
- Proficiency with math and computer skills required for a logistics role in cGMP labs.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. once per week.
- Work on feet for extended periods (up to 75% of shift).
- Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Work reasonable overtime, weekends, evenings, night, and holidays as scheduled.
Forward rotating 7 & 2 schedule with 12‑hour weekends (12‑hour shifts).
