Scope / OverviewThe Lease Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wells, processing units, and related production facilities. This role requires strong experience with oil, gas, and water separation facilities, major utilities, and upstream production operations. Candidates with experience supporting new facility startups and commissioning activities are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities
- Monitor and optimize production processes through routine surveillance and data analysis
- Conduct equipment inspections and perform visual maintenance activities
- Issue Safe Work Permits and perform gas testing to support maintenance activities
- Monitor process conditions including pressure, temperature, flow rates, chemical injection rates, and tank levels
- Maintain accurate gauge sheets and production records
- Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling activities
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and winterization/summerization activities
- Monitor field equipment using handheld and computerized systems
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including fire suppression systems and SCBA equipment
- Communicate process conditions and operational changes with Production Foremen
- Support environmental compliance initiatives and minimize operational impacts
- Maintain company vehicle in good working condition
- High school diploma required; trade school certificate or college degree preferred
- Previous experience in a closely related upstream operations role
- Ability to maintain, operate, and repair surface equipment associated with oil and gas production
- Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a rotating schedule and respond to callouts as needed
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and climb ladders and stairways
- Ability to wear and utilize SCBA and other safety equipment effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Agency-supplied ½‑ton truck provided
- Local candidates only; no per diem available
