Job Summary
Join Pratt & Whitney at the Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands‑on, team‑driven environment, you’ll apply mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability.
WorkSchedule
Weekend position:
Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00pm. The role is onsite at the facility.
- Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
- Utilize hand tools and a variety of fixtures to assemble, disassemble, and test a jet engine.
- Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly comply with quality standards, including required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes.
- Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate.
- Hands‑on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations.
- Familiarity with continuous‑improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP.

This position is FAA regulated and considered safety‑sensitive. Candidates will undergo drug and alcohol testing as a pre‑employment contingency and ongoing random testing per FAA regulations. The role is subject to FAA 14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40.
