Job Summary
Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. This is a 2nd Weekend Shift position:
Friday – Sunday 7:00pm – 7:30am. The role is on‑site and requires U.S. citizenship.
• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble, disassemble and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions comply with required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality, and Delivery objectives.
• Participate in ongoing cross‑training across assembly cells and support functions to ensure operational flexibility, consistent throughput, and high‑quality engine delivery.
You Must Have
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience in a mechanic role or appropriate technical training
- Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
- Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP
Candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as part of FAA requirements.
