About Casa de Amigos
The mission of Casa de Amigos is to improve the quality of life throughout the community by helping people help themselves. Casa de Amigos program areas are Health/Wellness, Youth and Adult Education, and Social and Senior Services. Stakeholder families and clients are of varied ethnicities, cultures and languages; the majority are below the poverty level, and their ages span from infants in the Child Enrichment Center, to senior adults receiving daily hot meals and attending thriving Senior Centers.
All of Casa de Amigos’ program areas address poverty related needs, for example, family food insecurity, lack of health insurance, unemployment and underemployment, limited English speaking and financial literacy skills, academically at-risk youth, and senior nutrition and wellbeing. Casa de Amigo’s programming includes running a Mobile Food Pantry, serving meals in their Senior Center, and providing healthcare at their clinic to uninsured adults, after school tutoring, and summer camps.
