Travel Nurse Opportunity In Midland, TX

We desire a Registered Nurse with PACU skills for a travel assignment in Midland, TX. This position requires travel, and compensation will cover travel expenses and is higher than a local Nursing assignment. Our client seeks experienced nurses to start quickly, so we need qualified nurses to begin our electronic on-boarding process.

Travel nursing offers adventure, freedom of choice, and flexibility. Nurses can select facilities and locations they prefer and work in prestigious facilities. Many nurses seek a quality lifestyle, and the ability to choose is important. To a great extent, travel nurses control their schedules. Many of our travelers have been in travel nursing for over ten years and plan to continue.

If you are a medical professional seeking a good salary, schedule choices, and exciting locations, a travel career may be suitable. To get started:

Get Prepared For The Steps In The Process

Before starting your first travel assignment, ensure your RN license is up to date, if needed, and have complete immunization and physical records. Your CV should highlight your nursing skills and experience, and you should have several references who can vouch for you.

When you find assignments of interest, your recruiter will submit you for them, and you can prepare for the interview process. During the interview, inquire about scheduling, patient to nurse ratios, required skills, etc.

State Licensing Requirements

You can start the RN license process in states you plan to work in. Some states, like California, New Jersey, and New York, take over a month to process. Many others process licenses quickly, often in a few days. Some states allow you to obtain a license in one day by visiting the state nursing board directly.

Being part of the Nurse Licensure Compact, which includes 25 states, makes the process easier. Your recruiter can assist with obtaining a license in your chosen state.

Your Area Of Expertise

Most facilities require a year or more of experience in your specialization. While requirements vary, you can apply for travel positions after a year of continuous experience. Some specialties, like psychiatric Registered Nurse and cardiac ICU, require over two years of experience.

Versatility

Flexibility is crucial for a successful travel nurse. Be open to various hospital policies, procedures, and locations to gain additional skills during your travel experience. Even if your first choice is an assignment in Hawaii, don’t miss out on opportunities in different locations. Most contracts are for 13 weeks, making it easy to try several cities within a year.

Job References and Skills Checklist

Your application needs a set of clinical references to confirm your skills. Three references are usually sufficient. A travel nurse typically fills out a skills checklist with their references.

After addressing references and skills, we can start seeking contracts that match your requirements. Once you accept a job, we will handle additional details like immunizations and drug testing.
