American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and charge experience.

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 200-300 births per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Rotates through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no post-partum)
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Some holiday coverage expected

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Must be able to circulate and transition babies as well as labor patients
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, venous blood draws, and IV/infusion pump management
• Pending license accepted for consideration but must be active before start date
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration

• Duties include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Familiarity with high-risk antepartum care, magnesium sulfate therapy, and pitocin administration
• Onsite drug screening required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted with candidate profile
• First-time travelers considered as long as they meet the required experience
