More About the RoleHighland Animal Hospital is a full‑service veterinary facility located in Big Spring, Texas, approximately 45 minutes east of Midland. We are currently a two‑doctor practice and are excited to continue our incredible growth with a third! Our strong support staff allows our doctors to focus on a high level of patient care and client education. We enjoy a diverse range of medical and surgical cases and support your unique clinical interests.

We are seeking a veterinarian with a passion for surgery who is looking for the opportunity to join a booming practice with outstanding, highly compliant clientele. We have a devoted and appreciative clientele that is highly invested in their pets’ health – some clients have been coming to us for generations! We have progressive, up‑to‑date equipment including digital radiography, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, and a complete in‑house lab.
Our veterinarians are excited to add another doctor to the team to continue our legacy of providing quality care to our patients in the community. Essential Responsibilities- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
