Job Summary:
As the site Field Safety Coordinator you will manage field personnel to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, programs, procedures, and legislative standards. You will communicate and contribute to the development of site-based programs, conduct onsite EHS audits and inspections, and provide recommendations for improving EHS performance and creating a NO HARM culture. Furthermore, you will ensure all personnel and employees are informed of safe working procedures and practices so that they can fulfill their responsibilities and manage required compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Drive safety policies and procedures.
- Support safety training and education to employees.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes.
- Create and maintain safety documentation and reports.
- Work with management to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and training.
- Stay updated with industry safety trends and regulations.
- Advise on the selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Review customers permit systems, including requirements for site posting of permits, LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space procedures, and Bird electric lift plans.
- Assist case management/follow up & coordination of injured employee.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various assignments.
- Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by assignment.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Safety and health certification, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years in a construction environment preferred.

- Knowledge of safety and health standards and practices.
- Knowledge of company substance abuse policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of worker's compensation policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of construction contracting strategies and contract administration.
- Knowledge of company safety and health consultation capabilities and ability to perform as a consultant.
- Ability to perform first aid/medical functions.

- Ability to write detailed reports.

- Ability to effectively interface with client and government officials.
Certifications:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification.
- OSHA 10 hour.

- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.

- Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
- Requires repetitive movement.
- May require work above 5 feet in height.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
