Position: Mechanic (Gate 3) - 1st Shift (Onsite)

Job Summary

Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world.

Shift Schedule

1st Shift: Monday – Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pm

What You Will Do
  • Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
  • Utilize hand tools and a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassemble and test a jet engine.
  • Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
Role Eligibility

U.S. citizenship is required. Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Compliance

Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre‑employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as required by FAA regulations. The position is considered safety‑sensitive under FAA Guidelines.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
We Prefer
  • Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate.
  • Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
