R&D Technologist – Process R&D

DuPont Water Solutions, a global leader in ion exchange resin and membrane technologies, is seeking an R&D Technologist to join our Process R&D team.

Training in DuPont’s core ion exchange resin technologies will be provided.

The role is based on-site at the DuPont Michigan Operations facility in Midland, Michigan.

• Synthesize and evaluate ion exchange resin products in a laboratory environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to achieve project objectives
• Analyze experimental data and prepare clear presentations of results, conclusions, and recommendations for technical leaders and management
• Manage laboratory operations, including primary responsibility for designated process and analytical equipment
• Maintain laboratory safety, procedural documentation, and compliance with safe operating practices

• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Two to five years of experience in an industrial laboratory setting (internship or co-op experience may be included)
• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to collaborate successfully on project teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated understanding of working in compliance with safe operating procedures

• Experience with ion exchange resins
• Background in synthetic chemistry, including polymer and/or small‑molecule synthesis
• Experience building and maintaining Swagelok®-based or similar laboratory equipment
• Hands‑on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, ion analysis, or polymer characterization
