Position: Retail Store Management Trainee - 2431

$16.00 to $20.00 per hour

This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast‑tracking into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of 6 months store management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day‑to‑day operations, promoting a positive/productive environment, partnering with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The position analyzes store financial statements, commits to the company's asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions.

The role involves a wide variety of merchandise including tools, electronics, firearms in FFL locations, and more. Compensation is hourly plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues.
  • Monitor and assist in training of retail staff to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers, merchandise, and ensuring procedures for asset protection.
  • Ensure asset protection via inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal‑setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of all loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Will work 45+ hours a week; hours based on business needs, not guaranteed.
  • Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
