ACV Auctions is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Territory Sales Manager with a background in the automotive space and a passion for cars. The Territory Manager is the face of our company, understands the dealership and wholesale car business, and is a dedicated road warrior who builds territory and provides exceptional client service while maintaining trust, transparency, and credibility.
What you will do:- Actively support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow and build out new business in your territory.
- Service accounts in person and via phone, seeking incremental growth opportunities.
- Utilize Salesforce daily for reporting and tracking.
- Achieve or exceed established sales goals.
- Develop relationships with dealers and dealer groups to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Be familiar with the competition and effectively sell against it.
- Assess customers’ wholesale inventory needs and offer solutions to increase their business with ACV Auctions.
- Educate customers on the breadth of our product and available services.
- Forecast and report incoming business activity monthly and annually.
- Ensure customers and prospects understand our products through a consultative selling approach.
- Respond quickly and accurately to problems, concerns, or needs to maintain current customer satisfaction.
- Proactively market the company to customers and convey the advantages of our product.
- Accountable for financial activity within your book of business.
- Adapt to changes in book of business, customer contacts, and internal structure or role changes.
- Manage day-to-day activities of Vehicle Condition Inspectors and KPIs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5 years of dealership experience, on either the used or new car side of business.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Experience selling into dealerships; auction knowledge strongly preferred.
- Willingness to be on the road daily, traveling to existing and prospect dealerships.
- Understanding of the retail/wholesale marketplace in an operational context.
- Excellent relationship building skills in person and over the phone.
- Understanding of the importance of building internal and external networks to increase personal effectiveness.
- An upbeat and positive demeanor.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and assist others in doing so.
- Experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce, to maintain and plan the sales pipeline.
- Ability to travel for meetings, training, etc.
- Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
Compensation:
The base compensation range for this position is listed in the “Job Details” section at the bottom of this posting. This position is eligible for additional compensation pursuant to ACV’s incentive compensation plan: the variable target of $48,000. Final compensation will be determined based upon relevant experience, skill set, location, business needs, market demands, and performance.
