The Management Trainee – Sales position is designed to develop future sales leaders through hands‑on training across the Permian Basin. This rotational program provides exposure to drilling fluid technology, field operations, customer relationship management, technical sales, and business development. Trainees will work alongside experienced sales professionals, field personnel, and operations teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of Drill Chem's products, services, and customer‑focused approach.

This role is ideal for an ambitious individual who enjoys building relationships, solving customer challenges, and developing the technical knowledge necessary to succeed in the oil and gas industry. Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will be positioned for opportunities in Technical Sales, Account Management, or Regional Leadership.

Key Goal:

Develop the technical expertise, commercial knowledge, and leadership skills necessary to become a successful sales professional and future leader within Drill Chem Drilling Solutions.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Participate in field visits alongside experienced sales representatives to support customer accounts throughout the Permian Basin.
  • Learn Drill Chem's drilling fluid products, chemical technologies, and service offerings.
  • Build relationships with drilling contractors, operators, and field personnel while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with identifying new business opportunities and supporting sales growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Technology to ensure timely delivery and execution of customer solutions.
  • Monitor customer activity, market trends, and competitor developments within assigned territories.
  • Assist in preparing customer presentations, proposals, pricing recommendations, and product demonstrations.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts by working with customers and internal technical teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Participate in sales meetings, customer visits, industry networking events, and training opportunities.
  • Gain exposure to inventory management, logistics, and field operations to understand the complete customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within company systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and Drill Chem's core values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Petroleum Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Industrial Distribution, Marketing, or related field).
  • Strong desire to build a career in technical sales within the oil & gas industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Self‑motivated with a competitive mindset and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Permian Basin and surrounding areas.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Rig experience preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for developing long‑term partnerships.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn complex drilling fluid technologies.
