Job Description

AECOM is seeking a self‑motivated, experienced Geologist for our Midland, TX office. The successful candidate will support Project Managers in planning, overseeing field work, and evaluating hydrogeologic and reporting phases for multidisciplinary environmental projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage field‑based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
  • Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate with PMs.
  • Perform data management, evaluation, and report writing for environmental investigation and closure reports.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays (expected >50% travel time).
  • Work on diverse projects with a positive attitude, mentor junior staff, and commit to workplace health and safety.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in geology or a related geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry).
  • 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
  • Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
  • Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes.
  • Experience with local regulatory agencies.
  • Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site models, and well installation reports.
  • Task management or project management experience.
  • Proposal writing skills.
Additional Information

Compensation range: $65,000 – $90,000 per year.
