Job Description
AECOM is seeking a self‑motivated, experienced Geologist for our Midland, TX office. The successful candidate will support Project Managers in planning, overseeing field work, and evaluating hydrogeologic and reporting phases for multidisciplinary environmental projects.
Responsibilities- Manage field‑based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
- Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate with PMs.
- Perform data management, evaluation, and report writing for environmental investigation and closure reports.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays (expected >50% travel time).
- Work on diverse projects with a positive attitude, mentor junior staff, and commit to workplace health and safety.
- Bachelor of Science in geology or a related geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry).
- 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
- Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
- Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes.
- Experience with local regulatory agencies.
- Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site models, and well installation reports.
- Task management or project management experience.
- Proposal writing skills.
Compensation range: $65,000 – $90,000 per year.
