Entry-Level Geologist – Midland, Texas

This position involves the collection of environmental data from sites in various stages of the assessment and remediation process. Under direct supervision, the person will be responsible for completing well-defined, assigned field and office tasks, including:

• Groundwater sampling
• Collection of soil samples
• Installation of monitoring wells
• Identification and evaluation of sensitive receptors
• Analyzing and interpreting analytical data
• Authoring technical reports
• Progressing sites toward regulatory closure
• Learning and honing the fundamentals of data collection
• Data validity and QA/QC
• Observation and documentation in support of scientific investigations and engineered solutions

Requires working within the context of local, state, federal regulations, client requirements, and as part of a project team under the direction of a project manager with other staff professionals.

Experience

• 0-2 years; strong technical or educational background in geology or engineering; ability to provide technical support on projects; strong communication and writing skills
• OSHA 40HR HAZWOPER training preferred

Education

• B.S. degree in geology, engineering, or related sciences; E.I.T or G.I.T preferred

Vaccination:
Position may require work on projects requiring full COVID-19 vaccination. Candidates must show proof of vaccination or acceptable exemption.

Background and Verification:
Candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
