Salary Information
The salary range for Midland, TX (MAF – Midland International Air and Space Port) is $46,105 to $56,844 or $22.09 to $27.24 per hour, including locality pay of 17.06%.
Sign‑on Bonus
Up to $5,000, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service. The bonus amount may change based on operational needs.
Responsibilities- Operate screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers.
- Perform searches and screenings, including physical interactions with passengers (e.g., pat‑downs, searches of property, bag searches, lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Control terminal entry and exit points.
- Interact with the public, give directions, and respond to inquiries.
- Maintain focus and awareness in stressful environments, including noise, crowd distractions, time pressure, and disruptive passengers.
- Engage in continuous development of critical thinking skills to mitigate security threats and apply risk‑based screening protocols.
- Retain and implement knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures and adapt to new information or unexpected obstacles.
- Maintain physical agility to squat and bend.
- Lift and manipulate baggage and objects weighing approximately 50 pounds.
- Walk up to three miles during a shift and stand for prolonged periods up to four hours.
Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport.
Full‑time Positions- 40 hours per week.
- Shift work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, including irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts, weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts.
- A split‑shift consists of two work shifts each lasting at least two hours with a minimum two‑hour break between shifts.

- Must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Selective Service registration is required.
- Must pass a structured interview, drug screening, medical evaluation, and background investigation.
- Subject to post‑employment random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Must be available to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
- Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
- Mandatory travel for training; occasional travel may be required.
- Exposure to potentially lethal devices and dangerous chemicals is inherent in this position.
- Experience:
At least one year of full‑time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an X‑ray technician. - Education:
High school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED, HiSET, TASC).
Credit for experience is applied based on a 40‑hour workweek; part‑time experience is credited on a pro‑rata basis.
Volunteer experience through National Service programs is considered additional qualifying experience.
