We are seeking an experienced Code Vessel Welder to join our production team. This position is ideal for a skilled welder who prioritizes safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork. Success in this role requires strict adherence to ASME code standards and fabrication specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform welding on vessels and related components in accordance with ASME Section VIII, AWS, API, ANSI, and other applicable industry codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, isometric drawings, and fabrication layouts.
- Lay out, fit, and fabricate vessel components and pipe in preparation for welding and installation.
- Examine welds and work pieces for defects and verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
- Repair defects and discontinuities identified during visual, UT, or X-ray inspection.
- Perform repairs on vessels or tanks that fail inspection.
- Operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools efficiently and safely.
- Use thermal cutting equipment such as oxy-fuel torch and plasma arc equipment.
- Connect hoses and regulators for oxygen and fuel gas systems safely.
- Operate forklift, man lift, and scissor lift as needed.
- Climb ladders and work from scaffolds when required.
- Report discrepancies and safety concerns to the shop foreman immediately.
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Must be able to pass a 6G Code Welding Test.
- Proven experience welding vessels to code.
- Ability to read and build vessels from detailed print layouts.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify defects and non-conformance issues.
