The Ovintiv Permian Shared Services Operations Team is seeking a safety minded Electrical and Instrument Technician responsible for troubleshooting, programming and installation of new and repaired electrical equipment. Coordinate all projects & jobs between Ovintiv foreman and contractors and execution of work orders to ensure a safe and reliable solution.
This job operates in a field environment, this role works in outside weather conditions through all seasons of the year. The employee is exposed to wet and or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat and vibration.
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm. Overtime will be required for value add work and with supervisor approval. Position also requires the ability to respond to call outs at nights, weekends and holidays as required (24/7 On Call rotation).
ResponsibilitiesEnforces all OVV safety policies and procedures.
Installs and services electrical equipment that meets or exceeds Ovintiv's and NEC requirements.
Performs routine maintenance on electrical equipment.
Coordinate and directs contractors for all daily work requirements.
Works collaboratively with all departments to assist and train all users for new electrical equipment on locations as needed.
Communicates effectively with all teams & departments managers for updates on future and current electrical projects.
Maintains motor, transformer and electrical material inventories.
Supervise electrical contractors working on Ovintiv Locations.
Valid Texas electrical journeyman license.
Four or more years of experience in oilfield electrical systems.
Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting skills.
Interpret schematics for electrical systems.
Wire sizing and motor ampacity knowledge.
Demonstrates work experience and knowledge of high voltage power line construction maintenance and repair, including transformer and fuse sizing and installation.
Strong skillset of medium to low voltage contractors and equipment related to motor controls.
Ability to work in a fast-paced organization.
Ability to prioritize jobs.
Valid Driver's License.
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
