Overview
Performs multiple tasks associated with field installation, service, maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of surface wellhead systems.
Responsibilities- Field Service, assembly, and repair of new, reman and customer property.
- Plan and coordinate activities with installing equipment, investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminate future operational service difficulties per job specification.
- Provide field service on a 24-hour on-call basis for existing and new customers during scheduled shifts.
- Work primarily from a home-based workshop but may include customer location visits, overtime, work for other divisions of the Company, and extensive travel with extended stays at other Company locations.
- Install new Vault Pressure Control equipment and conduct repairs, ensuring no rig lost time for customers while controlling expenses and maintaining assets.
- Work in the Shop when training or when not on active service jobs is required.
- Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Maintain effective communication with Company Representatives on issues including job procedures and spare parts requirements.
- Record critical dimensions to ensure assemblies will work and review product assembly/running procedures.
- Ship required equipment and tooling to location for service jobs.
- Prepare and submit Field Service Orders and other region-required reports after each job is complete.
- Complete a Tally Book or other forms to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions and customer questions or complaints.
- Work in a safe manner in compliance with VPC EHS and quality processes and procedures.
- Complete shift reports and logs.
- Must be able to climb up and down a ladder from work locations and work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work 12 to 14-hour shifts, day and night on a rotating schedule and weekends as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Healthcare benefits begin on day one.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years field service tech experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical, vocational, or military training or related experience is a plus.
- Surface Wellhead installation and repair experience is a plus but not required.
- At least one year mechanical, electronic and hydraulic related experience.
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated good working knowledge of mechanical processes.
- Demonstrated good customer service skills – communication skills, positive interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated good organizational skills.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical components, airborne fumes, and particles.
- Exposure to heat, cold, wet and snow conditions.
- Moderate noise levels.
