Pipefitter Helper – Stanton, TX
Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX, specializing in natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical projects. OPD is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pipe fitters with setting, assembling, and installing pipe.
- Prepare pipe and fittings for hoisting and rigging.
- Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut‑off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, welding machines, and Saw‑Zall.
- Mark bending and cutting lines of metal and clean work areas.
- Work safely and accurately to avoid rework and errors.
- Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
- Recognize safety hazards and risks.
- Participate in onsite safety meetings.
- Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
- Be on time, ready to work, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Capable of working outdoors in extreme heat, cold, and high elevations.
- Lifting and carrying objects up to 60 lbs.
- Standing up to 12 hours per day.
- Performing climbing, lifting, balancing, and reaching activities on elevated platforms.
- Wearing a full‑body harness and lanyard when required.
- 6+ months of experience working in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, and different metals.
- Past exposure to pipe fitting tools and equipment.
- Travel, including extended periods in remote areas.
- Availability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Willingness to attend mandatory safety meetings.
- 6+ months experience as a pipefitter helper.
- Experience reading ISO’s and drawings.
- Experience in a gas plant construction environment.
