Position Summary:
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in industrial oil & gas environments. This position works closely with operations, construction, and maintenance teams to ensure electrical systems are installed safely, operate reliably, and meet project specifications. The ideal candidate is safety focused, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced field environments.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
- Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment and follows diagrams or blueprints.
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Pulls wiring through conduit.
- Terminates wiring at lighting fixtures, control boxes, connectors, and power equipment.
- Installs controls, monitoring and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, sensors, control boxes and circuit-breaker panels.
- Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric motors or heaters, and installs grounding leads.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Communicating effectively and working with others. Able to work with peers and engineering support to develop and implement solutions to problems/issues.
- Problem Solving / Troubleshooting. Able to obtain, analyze and interpret data/information and develop solutions to issues/problems.
- Comply to all company policies and procedures

- Valid Journeyman License
- Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Time Management
- Must pass criminal background check and drug test
- Dependable, reliable, and self-starter

- Understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints
- Two (2) years oilfield electrical (AC & DC), hands-on experience (preferred)
- Ability to give direction and oversight to helpers and apprentices (preferred)
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in varying positions throughout the workday.
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally heavier with assistance.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other electrical instruments.
