Job Summary

A Journeyman Electrician is responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. They need to understand blueprints, follow electrical codes and all safety standards, CES and the customers. The Journeyman should be able to troubleshoot issues and ensure that the electrical systems are functioning efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities
  • This position requires advanced knowledge and skills for construction, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on most standard electrical projects. Responsible for running a truck and crew as well as caring for all associated equipment and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and industrial equipment such as motors, starters, relays, and solid-state circuitry electro-mechanical components. AC, and DC solid-state drives.
  • Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other company professionals. Need to make sure electrical systems from other contractors and engineers integrate smoothly.
  • Manage the timeline and tasks of electrical projects so to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed efficiently.
  • Fabricate, install and/or run conduit.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switch gear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
  • Test and install electrical motors, generators, and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair residential & commercial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Install electrical circuits and equipment including panels and conduit. Protective devices. switches, and related equipment as required.
  • Assist and provide guidance to apprentice electricians, helping them learn and develop their skills.
  • Must stay current with advancements, electrical tech, regulations and industry practices.
Qualifications
  • TDLR Journeymen license preferred, TDLR Apprentice License 5-10 years of experience acceptable.
  • Understand electrical codes, regulations and safety practices.
  • Minimum 5-year electrical and construction experience required.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Commercial & Residential experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and interact professionally with our customers and team members.
  • Attention to detail and committed to producing high quality work.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.) required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
  • Valid US driver’s license.
