Some core responsibilities for a Forklift Operator include:

• Operate an extended reach forklift to transport materials within the jobsite.
• Transport pallets, boxes, pipe, and other large objects within the jobsite.
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed.
• Unload material shipments when they arrive at the jobsite and stage them in designated areas.

• Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
• Recognize safety hazards and risks.
• Participate in onsite safety meetings.
• Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
• Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.
• Be on time to the jobsite each day, ready for work.
• Display a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.

• Work in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods up to 11 hours per day; breaks given in 2.5 hour intervals.
• Move the entire body, with considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools.

• At least 1.5 years of experience as a forklift operator.

• Travel is required, including extended periods away from home in remote areas.
• Attend mandatory safety meetings.
• Work in a team environment.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours per day and up to 7 days per week.
• Meet basic physical requirements.

• Three years of experience as a forklift operator.
• Proficiency in operating other large equipment such as skid steer, tractor, track hoe, backhoe, or excavator.
• Previous experience in oil and gas construction.
