Forklift Operator

What You Will DoSome core responsibilities for a Forklift Operator include:
- Operate an extended reach forklift to transport materials within the jobsite.
- Transport pallets, boxes, pipe, and other large objects within the jobsite.
- Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed.
- Unload material shipments when they arrive at the jobsite and stage them in designated areas.
- Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
- Recognize safety hazards and risks.
- Participate in onsite safety meetings.
- Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
- Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.
- Be on time to the jobsite each day, ready for work.
- Display a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.
- Work in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
- Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods up to 11 hours per day; breaks given in 2.5 hour intervals.
- Move the entire body, with considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools.
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a forklift operator.
Job Requirements
- Travel is required, including extended periods away from home in remote areas.
- Attend mandatory safety meetings.
- Work in a team environment.
- Work shifts up to 12 hours per day and up to 7 days per week.
- Meet basic physical requirements.
- Three years of experience as a forklift operator.
- Proficiency in operating other large equipment such as skid steer, tractor, track hoe, backhoe, or excavator.
- Previous experience in oil and gas construction.
