Automotive Service Technician

Dealership: L0124 All American Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Midland / All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Midland.

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunctions.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road‑test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs using company time‑clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair orders and test procedures/results.
• Maintain an inventory of normal mechanic tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels, punches) and return special tools to proper location.
• Use shop supplies and materials practically and economically.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning daily.
• Ensure customers’ vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior service.
• Complete all required training and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.
• Review technical bulletins and other publications assigned by management.
• Constructively communicate with dealership personnel to satisfy customer needs.
• Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
• Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards per departmental policies.
• Follow uniform guidelines: clean gray work shirts, creased gray work trousers, shirts tucked in, and belts without buckle design to avoid scratching paint.
• Arrive, take breaks, and depart at times designated by management.

• Competency:
  
  Passed manufacturer training and able to perform repairs in the following areas without supervision: lube and maintenance services, engine repair, automatic transmission, manual drive‑train repair, suspension/steering repair, brake repair, electrical/electrical systems repair, hybrid/alternative fuels, heating and A/C repair, engine drivability diagnosis and repair (optional).
• Manufacturer certified in all listed areas.
• Minimum of six ASE certifications (preferably an ASE Master Technician).
• Appropriate smog license or state emissions certification (as applicable).
• Customer‑pay proficiency level greater than 115% customer‑pay repairs.
• Five or more years of automotive technical knowledge and experience (preferred).
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
• High‑school graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older.
