Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Code Welder for contract work in Midland, TX
, specializing in welding pressure vessels and storage tanks. This position requires a high level of craftsmanship, knowledge of applicable welding codes (e.g., ASME Section IX), and the ability to work safely in fast‑paced field environments. Ideal candidates will be familiar with SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes and must be able to pass weld tests to applicable code requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform code‑compliant welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pressure vessels and tanks
  • Interpret weld procedures, blueprints, and isometric drawings
  • Safely operate welding equipment, torches, and associated tools
  • Maintain quality and dimensional accuracy according to specifications
  • Perform weld repairs, fit‑up, and fabrication as needed
  • Follow all site safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Work independently or as part of a crew under direction from site supervisors or project managers
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience welding on vessels and tanks
  • Proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes
  • Must be able to pass weld tests in accordance with ASME Section IX or API 650/653
  • Current welding certifications preferred; must be able to recertify if required
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, and NDT standards
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, inside of vessels and tanks, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must have reliable transportation and own welding gear
