Pipefitter, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Pipefitter position located in Stanton, TX.

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD), part of Koch Engineered Solutions, is an engineering and construction company specializing in natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical projects. OPD provides both construction services and engineering/procurement, enabling a one‑stop shop for our clients.

• Read drawings, take measurements, draw isometrics, and install piping efficiently.
• Interpret blueprints and basic blueprints aspects.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack‑weld components for welding preparation.
• Distinguish varying thicknesses and types of metal materials.
• Position and clamp fabricated metal components for welding.
• Maintain knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, and related equipment.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and equipment according to specifications, welding and threading joints accurately.
• Operate welding equipment and related tools (beveling machines, cut‑off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, welding machines, Saw‑Zall).
• Manually handle and apply rigging equipment safely.

• Actively participate in safety culture and onsite safety meetings.
• Recognize safety hazards and risks.
• Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
• Be aware of changing conditions on the jobsite.
• Arrive on time each day, ready to work.
• Maintain a positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
• Exercise high attention to detail to avoid reworks and errors.

• Capability to work outdoors in extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations.
• Lift and carry objects up to 60 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods (up to 11 hours per day).
• Use arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending regularly.
• Work on elevated platforms and maintain balance while stepping on narrow beams and pipes, wearing approved full‑body harness and lanyard.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools.

• Minimum 2 years of pipefitter experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints (ISO, P&).

• Travel is required, with extended periods in remote areas.
• Willingness and ability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
• Willingness to meet all physical demands of the job.
• Attendance at mandatory safety meetings.

• Experience in a gas plant construction environment.
• 3+ years of pipefitter experience.
• Leadership experience in safety.
• Familiarity with welding basics.
