Light Duty Technician
Job SummaryTransdev in Midland, TX is seeking an experienced Light Duty Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive engines across various vehicles and equipment. The role requires expertise in Dodge, Chevrolet (Chevy), and Ford engines, and supports the safety, efficiency, and longevity of fleet assets.
Compensation- Competitive compensation package: minimum $22.00 – maximum $30.00 per hour
- Vacation: minimum of two weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating)

- Company paid ASE testing and training materials
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on engines.
- Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members for efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and develop comprehensive repair strategies.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering skill development.
- Proven knowledge and experience with Dodge, Chevrolet (Chevy), and Ford engines.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic.
- CDL license preferred.
- ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s tool set.
- Eligible for a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing per 49 CFR Part 40.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity – 100% outdoors.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day) and frequently walk long distances, often on sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance, occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch near ground level.
- Work in heavy traffic areas and tolerate dust, fumes, and noise.
