Instrumentation & Electrical Technician
Looking for a hands-on Instrumentation & Electrical Technician (I&E Tech / E-Tech) to join our Technology Development team in Midland, TX. This isn't a maintenance role and it's not a panel-shop-only job. You'll work on first-of-their-kind electric actuation, automation, and well-control technologies that are changing the way the oilfield operates. Instrumentation & Electrical Technician Details:
- Direct Hire position
- $ 35.00 to $ 42.00 / hour
- First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)
- Build, wire, test, and commission electrical control panels, instrumentation packages, and automation systems for innovative valve and well-control technologies.
- Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, PLCs, HMIs, and other electrical and control system components.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, hydraulic, and mechanical issues in both shop and field environments.
- Travel to support equipment deployment, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations teams to improve product performance, validate new technology, and support ongoing development projects.
Instrumentation & Electrical Technician
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an I&E Technician, E-Tech, Controls Technician, Automation Technician, or Field Service Technician in oil & gas, industrial, manufacturing, or related environments.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs/HMIs, sensor calibration, and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on valves, hydraulic systems, actuators, and other field equipment.
- Self-starter who can troubleshoot independently, solve complex problems, and support equipment deployments in both shop and field environments.
- Valid driver's license, ability to travel up to 30%.
