Combustion Technician - White Tail Automation

Put your combustion expertise to work. As a Combustion Technician, you'll be the go-to expert in the field. Tuning burners, troubleshooting complex combustion issues, optimizing system performance, and helping customers operate safely and efficiently.

You'll have the opportunity to work independently, tackle challenging technical problems, lead BMS installations and commissioning, and mentor less-experienced technicians.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Independently tune ND burners to achieve safe, reliable, and optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex burner and combustion issues.
  • Evaluate burner performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and operation.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of ND burner operation, combustion principles, and related components.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of forced draft (FD) burners and associated controls.
  • Evaluate customer sites and equipment to identify combustion system requirements.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to define equipment and project requirements.
  • Lead standard BMS installation activities and coordinate installation work as required.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, testing, and optimization of combustion systems.
  • Understand applicable emissions requirements within the technician's home region.
  • Perform required emissions testing and prepare accurate customer reports.
  • Maintain complete and accurate service, testing, and commissioning documentation.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced technicians.
  • Identify additional customer service, repair, and equipment opportunities.
  • Follow all company, customer, manufacturer, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Maintain a professional customer-facing presence.
  • Travel to customer locations and respond to service requirements as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competency as a Combustion Technician.
  • Advanced understanding of ND burner operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently tune ND burners.
  • Strong understanding of BMS operation and related components.
  • Working knowledge of FD burners and controls.
  • Ability to evaluate customer sites and determine basic combustion system requirements.
  • Knowledge of applicable regional emissions requirements.
  • Ability to complete accurate emissions testing and customer reporting.
  • Ability to lead BMS installation activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
  • Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
  • Willingness to travel and work in varying field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, where required.

Working

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday schedule with 8 to 10 hour days and potential overtime and call outs.
