Mach is a rapidly growing provider of energy-related construction solutions for the upstream and midstream markets. Mach has a position available in our Operations Support group as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, based out of Midland/Odessa, TX.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for daily routine maintenance on construction equipment. Knowledge of diagnosing and repairing hydraulics, engines, transmissions, and differentials on John Deere, Komatsu, Caterpillar, Link-Belt, Superior, JLG, Sullair, trailer, and Peterbilt haul truck equipment is required. The successful candidate must have their own tools and a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). A drug screen, physical, and criminal background check are required of the successful candidate.

- Repairs and maintains diesel and gasoline engines used to power machines and construction machinery.
- Troubleshoots and repairs construction machinery, diagnoses equipment performance problems, and provides recommendations for problem resolution.
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs a wide range of construction components, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance on construction machinery and equipment, and keeps proper records of all tasks performed.
- Conducts diagnostic tests on engine systems to determine and correct system faults.
- Operates hand and power tools, grinders, precision measuring instruments, welders, and oxy/acetylene torches.
- Completes daily maintenance forms, repair logs, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and other required documentation.
- Exercises proper lockout/tagout procedures when necessary.
- Exercises safe working practices, including use of required PPE.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Accurately manages use and reporting of company-provided fuel and purchasing cards.
- Performs any additional assigned duties in a safe manner.
- 5+ years of Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions. (Preferred but not required)
- Proficient in reading schematics (both electrical and hydraulic).
- Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Knowledgeable in troubleshooting heavy equipment across multiple product lines, including John Deere, Komatsu, Caterpillar, Link-Belt, Superior, JLG, Sullair, trailers, and Peterbilt haul trucks.
- Experience operating/driving various types of heavy machinery preferred.
- Fabrication and welding experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to qualify for a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Excellent driving record / Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Factory, vocational, or mechanical training is a plus.
- SAFELAND certification is a plus.
- Position requires working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
