POSITION

SUMMARY

Water Lens is seeking a hands-on Field Service & Equipment Technician to support hydraulic fracturing operations in the Permian Basin. The role is focused on keeping Water Lens inline monitoring systems installed, operating, maintained, and ready to move between frac locations. In addition, this position requires the testing of various water samples using the Water Lens analysis system.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable at oilfield locations (especially frac pads), and able to troubleshoot equipment problems independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transport, set up, install, and commission Water Lens inline monitoring systems at customer frac locations.
  • Move equipment between well sites, pads, yards, and customer locations as needed.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, plumbing, tubing, valves, fittings, sensors, probes, cables, power components, and communications equipment.
  • Troubleshoot field equipment issues and restore system operation quickly and safely.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, cleaning, calibration support, and basic system checks.
  • Maintain spare parts, tools, consumables, and field equipment inventory.
  • Document equipment condition, repairs completed, calibration support, and site activity.
  • Occasionally collect samples and run Water Lens tray-based water tests when needed.
  • Communicate equipment status, field issues, and customer needs to Water Lens management.
  • Follow customer safety requirements and Water Lens field operating procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience with pumps, hoses, piping, valves, basic electrical systems, instrumentation, or industrial equipment.
  • Comfortable working independently at active oilfield and hydraulic fracturing locations.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, meters, fittings, and field service equipment.
  • Valid driver license and ability to travel throughout New Mexico and nearby operating areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry it up to 50 - 100 yards, we needed, and work outdoors in field conditions.
  • At least 5 years of experience in and around frac operations
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
  • Oilfield, frac, water transfer, produced-water handling, water treatment, or industrial field service experience.
  • Experience with process instrumentation, online analyzers, generators, pumps, telemetry, or remote monitoring systems.
  • Basic familiarity with water sampling or field-testing procedures.
IDEAL CANDIDATE

A dependable field technician who knows how to keep equipment running, can work around frac operations safely, and is willing to take ownership of Water Lens equipment in the field. This role does not require a chemist, but it does require someone who is careful, practical, mechanically capable, and responsive to customer needs.

BENEFITS
  • We offer health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holidays. Full time employees are eligible for our stock option plan after 6 months. This position also has access to a company truck.
