Trash Pump Mechanic

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Trash Pump Mechanic to join our team in Midland, Texas. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and overhaul of trash pumps and related pumping equipment used in industrial, construction, oilfield, and rental applications.

• Diagnoses, troubleshoot, repair, and service trash pumps and related pumping equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Replace mechanical seals, wear plates, impellers, bearings, clutches, and other pump components.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, control systems, switches, and related electrical components.
• Performs complete pump teardowns, rebuilds, and overhauls as necessary.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions.
• Conduct testing and inspections to verify equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts usage reports.
• Respond to field service calls and assist with on-site repairs when required.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Candidates should have experience servicing and repairing a variety of pump systems, including but not limited to:

• Gorman-Rupp T-Series Trash Pumps (primary equipment serviced)
• Tiger Pumps
• Sage Pumps
• Barco Pumps
• Tomahawk Pumps
• Additional diesel-driven, gas-powered, and electric-powered pumping equipment
• A strong background working on Gorman-Rupp pumps, including maintenance, diagnostics, rebuilds, and component replacement, is highly desirable.

• Minimum 3+ years of mechanical experience, preferably working with pumps, engines, industrial equipment, rental equipment, or related machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience replacing seals, clutches, bearings, impellers, electrical wiring, and other mechanical components.
• Ability to perform complete equipmentteardowns, repairs, and rebuilds.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, gas engines, and electrical systems is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.

• Experience in equipment rental, construction, industrial, municipal, agricultural, or oilfield environments.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience performing field service repairs is preferred.
• Technical certifications or manufacturer training are a plus.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy components and tools.
• Ability to work in shop and outdoor environments.
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work around heavy equipment.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding work.
