Intake Coordinator – Masters or Bachelor Level Social Worker – All Shifts

Signet Health at Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center, Midland, TX is hiring a Social Worker or Master of Social Work (MSW) for an Intake Coordinator role (Full‑time). The coordinator will conduct rapid psychiatric and substance use assessments and manage the admission process for a multi‑population acute inpatient facility.

• Perform rapid psychiatric and substance use diagnostic evaluations.
• Determine clinical severity and medical necessity for diverse demographics (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
• Provide crisis intervention, lethal means assessment, and behavioral de‑escalation for patients in acute distress.
• Coordinate inpatient admission with emergency rooms, courts and community providers.
• Execute insurance reviews, obtain pre‑authorizations and defend medical necessity to managed care organizations.
• Administer temporary detention orders, involuntary commitment paperwork and state‑specific mental health protocols.
• Deliver clinical reports and initial treatment recommendations to the inpatient attending physicians and nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate referral for follow‑up care when admission is not required.

• Education:
  
  Master’s or Bachelor’s in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Licensure:
  Active state licensure (LPC, LPC‑A, LBSW, or LMSW).
• Experience:
  
  Acute psychiatric triage, emergency room social work, or inpatient admissions.
• Skills:
  
  DSM‑5‑TR diagnostics across the lifespan; understanding of involuntary psychiatric admission laws; ASAM criteria for substance‑related admissions; ability to work in a 24/7 shifting environment (including nights and weekends).
• Additional:
  Training in non‑violent crisis intervention and CPR certification helpful but can be provided.
