As a Program Facilitator you will engage with men in a court mandated targeted behaviour change process to support immediate, short term and long term behavioural and attitudinal change. Through group education initiatives in community-based settings, you will provide culturally competent rehabilitation and reintegration services to male perpetrators of family and domestic violence. You will be co-facilitating evening groupwork sessions with another facilitator and role model respectful and appropriate ways of communicating and interacting with the ultimate end goal of breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence.

The role also entails high level case note and assessment/report writing to the Department of Justice standards.

This role provides flexible coverage across metropolitan and regional services, including conducting program assessments and delivering group programs in both community and custodial settings.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE, 37.5 hours per week) permanent opportunity based in Joondalup, with additional responsibilities providing backfill support at our Midland site. The role involves co-facilitating several evening sessions each week, with working hours of 12:00pm-8:00pm on those days; on other days, standard office hours are worked between 8:00am-5:00pm.

The position also requires occasional travel to regional and remote locations (up to three days at a time) to support service delivery, as needed throughout the year.

Skills and Experiences About You
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (minimum three-year degree) in a human services-related field, as required by our funding body.
  • Significant experience working within the family and domestic violence sector, including specialist knowledge of perpetrator intervention programs and evidence-informed approaches to behaviour change and accountability.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of family and domestic violence on victim-survivors, including adults, children, young people, families and communities.
  • Proven ability to co-facilitate group programs, engage participants in meaningful learning and reflection, and deliver psycho educational, community education and behaviour change interventions.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to maintain accurate case notes, complete assessments and prepare clinical criminogenic reports.
  • Experience engaging and working effectively with mandated or court-referred participants, while maintaining professional boundaries and managing resistance to change, would be highly regarded.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the ability to work across multiple metropolitan service locations (Joondalup and Midland) and travel to regional locations including Karratha, Kalgoorlie and Broome for short periods (2-3 days at a time).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build rapport, manage group dynamics, and support participants through challenging conversations while maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, WA Drivers Licence and be able to obtain a Department of Corrective Services clearance.
