Overview
We are looking for an experienced Import / Export Logistics Specialist to manage and execute U.S. import and export operations with a strong focus on customs compliance, international logistics execution, and continuous improvement
.
This role is critical to ensuring compliant, on-time, and cost-effective international shipments while acting as a key point of contact for internal teams on U.S. trade regulations.
This is a full-time, on-site position based at Midland, Texas
.
Import & Export Operations
- Manage day-to-day U.S. import and export shipments from booking to final delivery
- Ensure shipments meet deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal standards
- Coordinate with international agents, suppliers, freight forwarders, and carriers
- Monitor shipments end-to-end and proactively resolve customs, carrier, or regulatory issues
U.S. Trade Compliance
- Verify and generate shipping documentation, customs entries, tariffs, and regulatory paperwork
- Provide guidance on:
- HTS & Schedule B classifications
- ECCN classifications and export controls
- Country of origin, licensing, and AES filings
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and export regulations
Packaging & Documentation
- Ensure export packaging meets product specifications and international transport standards
- Perform pre- and post-packaging inspections, including photographic documentation
- Generate packing slips, commercial invoices, and shipping documentation in alignment with compliance requirements
Cost & Performance Management
- Track, analyze, and manage international transportation costs
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and budget adherence
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
- Use data to track logistics performance and identify improvement opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Materials, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Planning, and Supply Chain teams
- Use supply planning forecasts to anticipate shipping needs and risks during demand fluctuations
- Serve as a trusted logistics and compliance partner to internal stakeholders
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Define, maintain, and update logistics SOPs
- Support audits, claims, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive process improvements across import and export operations
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in import/export logistics
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with U.S. Customs regulations and import compliance
- Strong knowledge of international trade documentation and regulations
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
