Rental Technician

As a Rental Technician at Sunbelt Rentals, you will deliver and remove equipment and supplies to and from customer work sites in a vehicle that has a gross weight of less than 26,000 pounds.

• Loading, unloading, and securing equipment.
• Long‑distance hauling of equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrating proper equipment usage to customers at the point of delivery.
• Service equipment as required to maintain proper operating condition at the job site.
• Effectively communicate equipment issues with customers and the Service Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Fuel equipment on job sites as needed.
• Perform safety inspections on equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance when needed.
• Clean and maintain the work vehicle to ensure a safe work environment.
• Meet all company, governmental, and equipment‑related safety requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the manager or authorized personnel.
• Complete inspection reports for outbound and returned equipment; maintain log books and trip sheets in compliance with DOT and company record‑keeping requirements.

• Current CDL license with a Haz Mat endorsement and a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Strong language skills for responding to customer inquiries and presenting information to management.
• Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Preferred 2 years of experience.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge of tractor‑trailer operation and hauling, including certification.
• Proficiency with mechanic’s tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of delivery area and safety requirements for equipment handling and transport (plus).
• Ability to work a rotating on‑call schedule, available 7 days a week, after hours, weekends, and holidays.

Requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more; work can be performed indoors or outdoors.

Base Pay Range: $20.89 - $30.02 per hour (starting rate may vary by position, location, education, training, and/or experience).
