Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Hydrovac Driver role based in Midland, TX. The Hydrovac Driver operates hydrovac trucks to perform safe, precise excavation around underground utilities and other critical infrastructure. Daily tasks include driving to and from job sites, setting up and operating hydrovac equipment, managing hoses and water systems, and safely disposing of materials in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
The role also involves conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, performing basic equipment maintenance, and completing required logs and documentation. The Hydrovac Driver follows all safety procedures and communicates effectively with supervisors and customers to ensure efficient, compliant, and timely completion of work.
Qualifications
- Proven truck operation and driving skills, including experience with heavy trucks and safe operation in varying field and weather conditions.
- Valid CDL Class A license in good standing, with a clean driving record and ability to meet all DOT and company driving requirements.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with crew members, supervisors, and site contacts, and to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Customer service mindset, with the ability to represent the company professionally on job sites and address routine questions or concerns respectfully.
- Experience operating hydrovac or similar vacuum/excavation equipment is preferred; willingness to train and learn specialized equipment is required.
- Commitment to safety, including adherence to PPE requirements, company safety policies, and industry best practices in oil and gas construction environments.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in pipeline, construction, or oil and gas field operations is a plus.
