Job SummaryResponsible for responding to alarms and equipment issues, working with current plant conditions and commercial commitments. Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment at a gas plant for the gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation. Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and performing operation of the equipment within specifications and environmental regulations under the direction of skilled plant technicians.
Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and performing maintenance of equipment at a gas plant.
- Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant equipment
- Ensures proper operation of the plant
- Repairs and calibrates equipment
- Troubleshoots equipment and systems
- Ensures strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures, including Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and PPE
- Performs technical work or analysis of processes in areas of expertise
- Gains knowledge of the entire plant cycle and how it functions
- Assists/ performs troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair/replacement, and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures
- Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
- Performs clearances in LOTO under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
- Utilizes and operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments
- Follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
- Safely tests and utilizes a respirator for handling aqueous ammonia and fit tests annually
- Minimum 1 year industry‑related Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plant experience, or equivalent
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Standard computer‑based skills
- Must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) to be considered, unless currently employed in specific Fossil Generation positions
- Demonstrate continual self‑improvement in job skills and knowledge
- Progression of skill within primary skill set
