Job Summary

The CAD Technician is responsible for the technical execution of 3D models and the maintenance of project‑specific CAD data to align with PDI standards and client needs. This position focuses on the production and integrity of the digital model, ensuring that design data is accurately captured and managed throughout the project lifecycle. The CAD Technician works closely with Project Managers and the BIM Manager to maximize project efficiency with the use of existing software.

Project Managers will be responsible for maintaining the Project space once created, with technical support from the CAD Technician. This individual remains engaged with the engineering departments to accommodate design needs and provide technical solutions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and assist with project design software needs
  • Oversee and manage 3D pipe spec development
  • Coordinate and monitor Revit library development
  • Execute 3D modeling tasks and extract deliverables (Isometrics, Orthos, BOMs)
  • Allocate tasks to department team members as directed by project leads
  • Perform daily model maintenance and troubleshooting for CAD users
  • Ensure model adherence to established CAD rules and procedures
  • Utilize 3D scanning data and point clouds within the design environment
  • Assist in the technical setup of ACC templates, project folders, and permissions
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • Current working knowledge of CAD products:
    Plant3D or CADWorx, Revit, Recap or Cloud Worx, and Microstation
  • Familiar with point clouds and 3D scanning experience
  • Familiar with process design for Specialty Chemical, Food, Pharmaceutical, Power, and Industrial Clients
  • Desired:
    Working knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, BOCA, ANSI & ASHRAE codes and where/how they apply
  • Desired:
    Understanding of the functionality of common equipment used in chemical and industrial manufacturing processes
  • A good understanding of and sensitivity to maintenance & constructability considerations in all design applications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must possess uncompromised commitment to quality
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S., pass a drug and background test and have a valid driver's license
