Telemetry Technician

Methodist Health System seeks a Telemetry Technician to monitor cardiac rhythms and support patient care in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. The Telemetry Technician will continuously observe ECG waveforms, recognize and promptly report arrhythmias, document rhythm changes, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely interventions. This role requires strong attention to detail, accurate data entry in electronic medical records, effective communication, and adherence to safety and infection-control standards.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and ECG rhythms for assigned patients
• Recognize and promptly report arrhythmias and significant rhythm changes to nursing/medical staff
• Document cardiac rhythms, events, and alarms accurately in electronic medical records
• Ensure proper placement, function, and troubleshooting of telemetry equipment and leads
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety and infection-control protocols
• Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and the care team regarding patient status
• Respond to telemetry alarms and escalate concerns according to established protocols
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge telemetry processes and equipment setup
• Participate in quality assurance activities and follow departmental policies and procedures
