D.W. Distribution is an SBP Brand. D.W. Distribution is currently looking for a Material Handler (Forklift Operator) to join our VALUESbased organization in our Midlothian TX facility.
This position will be working on our 1st SHIFT starting at 10:00am - 7:00pm CST
. We seek to serve people first, and we operate according to a moral compass aimed at doing what is right even when it is hard. This position will be based out of our Midlothian TX facility. A Material Handler performs a number of different and important responsibilities in the Pre-hanging/Pre-finishing operation including material receiving, material & product movement, product shipping and production support responsibilities.
FUNCTIONS
- Manually pick and stage correct warehouse items at the appropriate loading dock location
- Use of hand-held scanner to locate items and move them to appropriate dock door
- Move any damaged or non-conforming items to the appropriate area for reclaim or RTV
- Use of a forklift and order picker will be required
- Conduct all activities in a safe manner, adhering to company safety standards
- Meet standards for quality as set forth by the company by inspecting product as pulled and/or loaded
- Assure proper housekeeping and organization on the loading dock and warehouse aisles
- Strive to meet team efficiencies for items pulled without compromising accuracy
- May be required to assist in unloading or loading trucks when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
ExperienceOne year or more of Forklift operator experience. Cherry Picker experience preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES Computer SkillsUse of computers helpful
Certificates & LicensesForklift certification may be helpful
Other Requirements- Must be able to read and understand English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Good hand and eye coordination
- Ability to follow oral and written communication from supervisor, lead or co-worker
