- The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Program, set up, and optimize CNC mills and lathes
Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software
Support production scheduling and workflow decisions
Lead and mentor machinists on the shop floor
Improve machining processes, cycle times, and overall efficiency
Select tooling, work holding, and machining strategies
Perform setup verification and prove-outs for new jobs
Ensure operators are properly inspecting and verifying parts
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
Help establish best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate directly with ownership on shop growth and operational decisions
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have significant influence over how the shop operates and scales moving forward.

- What We're Looking For Required
7+ years of CNC machining experience
Strong CNC programming and setup experience
Multi-axis milling experience
Lathe experience including live tooling
Ability to edit and optimize CNC programs
Experience using CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Mastercam
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
Understanding of production management and workflow optimization
Ability to lead others and make sound shop-floor decisions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
U.S. Person status due to defense-related manufacturing requirements
Preferred (Not Required)
Previous Lead Machinist, Shop Lead, or Supervisor experience
5-axis machining experience
Defense or military manufacturing experience
Experience helping build processes and shop procedures
Experience mentoring and training machinists
